Free Up Space for Fabric and Feel Good!
by Amy
A year or so ago, as part of our “Organization of the Month” series of fundraisers, we had a sale and donated a portion of the proceeds to Coffee Creek Quilters, a fabulous group that teaches quilting classes to women incarcerated at the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Wilsonville, Oregon. This year we were thinking of doing something a little different in support of that organization. From Monday September 17th through Sunday, September 30th we will be holding a “fabric drive” at the shop, giving our customers a more direct way to contribute to the work of the Coffee Creek Quilters by donating their unwanted quilting cottons. They ask that your donations be:
- Clean 100% cotton
- Medium weight woven
- Fat quarters or more than ½ yd.
- Please, no clothing, drapery fabric, knits, metallics, etc
So dig into that stash, clear some space, and bring your cast-offs by the shop. You will feel good about de-cluttering your sewing space, and about supporting the life-changing work of these fantastic women.
